Lens Politica festival 2011 web site
Client: Lens Politica Ry
Completed: November 2011
We have been collaborating with Lens Politica since 2008! It's a simple deal; we have been instrumental in their success as much as they have been in ours. Eventually this is exactly how we want to work. Lens Politica was launched at the Finnish Art Academy in 2006, established by visual artist and film director Alejandro Pedregal and cultural producer Nina Toppila, but made possible by a whole lot of other good people. Unique in its genre, this festival connects visual arts and cinema with the social-political questionings of now.
This is the latest version on the web site we designed, developed, and maintained for them. As every year, we wanted the web site to reflect as much as possible the current visual identity of the festival. The site is extensive and provides a lot of information in Finnish and English. The home page carries an editorial function of the festival displaying brief news articles and important announcements. The upper banner at the top fades the key films, exhibitions and events. The right column displays contextual elements like the different sections submenus, social media modules and advertisements. Most of the web site sub-sections feature intermediate custom made front-pages to create a visually compelling experience and provide the visitors with a curated content. Take a look!
